I remember the day I went to an interview for an office job at a real estate company. I was always confident in my interview skills. I mean, they just ask you a bunch of questions, you fake it till you make it, and you get the job! Right?

Ya, not this time.

Hi, I'm Kristin Pelletier, founder and CEO of Wanna Be Tech Savvy. An online community of like-minded people who aspire to be tech-savvy for the purpose of getting better, higher-paying jobs...without breaking the bank! And I was put in front of a computer and asked to open Excel and explain what the spreadsheet was and how the data came to be. I was like, WHAAAAA? I always thought of myself as being a fast learner and pretty tech savvy at the time. I figured I was a high 7 out of 10 when it came to computer proficiency. Oh boy! I looked at that spreadsheet, and my eyes crossed. I could navigate Excel ok—I mean, I’d used a mouse and a keyboard before! But to explain the formulas? That looked like a foreign language to me. And for full transparency, I put that I WAS proficient in Excel on my resume.

Needless to say, I was hurried, ever so politely, out the door. I felt 2 inches tall. And my ego got a reality check.
Ever feel that way? Like everyone else knows this stuff except you? Like, all the younger whippersnappers are whizzin’ by you with their tech skills, and you’re still in 1995? Ok, "whippersnappers" is more like a 1955 phrase, but you get my point.

It was at that time that I decided to get my computer proficiency into the 21st century, and as if that wasn’t enough, I took it further and got my Microsoft certification, and THEN, started my own computer training school so that I could teach others to become tech savvy so they would never have to feel like I did back then.
And now, after hitting my 10-year anniversary as a technical training school owner, over 500+ student success stories, countless “zero to hero” lightbulb moments, and lots of tears, hugs, and celebrations later, I’ve decided to take all that I have taught my own students live in the classroom to an online, on-demand platform so that you too can experience what my students at the school have experienced. Anxious to Fearless. Poignant to Proficient. Challenged to Confident.
